Description of Soapstone / Talc
Talc is the world's softest mineral and a naturally occurring Magnesium Silicate Mineral with the chemical formula Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂. It ranks 1 on the Mohs hardness scale and possesses a specific gravity of 2.5–2.8. Talc is characterized by its smooth texture, white streak, translucent to opaque appearance, and hydrophobic nature. It is widely used in paints, plastics, paper, cosmetics, and industrial applications.
